Okay, there is something I need to get off my chest. I know that the schools contract to a large photography house so that they can photograph all of the Seniors for the yearbook. While you’re there, they will take additional photos in your wardrobe choices. Now here’s what you need to know. You don’t have to buy these photos. Seriously. If you are not happy with them, don’t buy them. You have choices.
I have had so many Seniors come to me and say, “My pictures were terrible. We bought them because we thought we had to.” All you need to get done is your yearbook photo. Then you can go to any photographer you want for your Senior portraits. This is an amazing time in your life because you are on the verge of adulthood and you have an amazing energy and personality that you will never want to forget. You are unique. Your Senior portraits should reflect that. All I ask is that you take a look at my gallery. I would love to help capture the real you in your Senior portraits so you can share that with family and friends.
My advice to you today and as you embark on your next chapter in life: Don’t settle.

To those who have allowed me to play a part in their senior year by taking their senior portraits and recording an amazing and exciting time of their life, I thank you. The way the wind blew her hair and the fabric in the dress, Stunning! The color of her dress was just amazing with the sunset too. Happy graduation Andy!
I had the best senior portrait session last night! The sunset was amazing all of her clothing choices were perfect. We even got a few shots with the BF! Just wait and see…. And…..By the way.. I just can’t get enough of this song lately. Think I’ll process the beach images to this song on loop
Yeah.. I realize that my senior portrait photography blog has turned into more of the song of the day blog. But music is really what keeps me going all day long. I’m really not sure how many times I have created a post for MGMT but dang! This song never gets old! I can really get lost in some photo eretouching…. In my opinion one of the biggest no no’s with a photography website is music on the home page.. So your on the work computer and surfing the web when you really should be doing something more productive, you click on someones photo site and blaring out the speakers is some weird song. Now, everyone knows that you’re on the web when you should be working.. LOL…I know that the world doesn’t want to hear my favorite song on loop… At least here you’ll have to click play first to hear my favorite song (of the day).
I forgot to brag about this one! I actually earned Professional Photographers of California’s -High School Senior Portrait Photographer of the Year 2011. That’s right out of all competing California senior portrait photographers… I won! Yay!!! You know what this means? It means that Professional Photographers of California thinks that I’m pretty good at taking senior pictures… LOL Good to know.
So your graduating this year and you still haven’t taken your senior portraits. Don’t fret! You’re not alone. I have lots of last minute seniors still scheduling sessions. There’s still time to get senior pictures taken but you need to schedule it now! At this point you have probably already taken some pictures by the school studio.. And you can’t stand them right? That doesn’t happen in my studio. In fact the problem here, is that most seniors love every single one of their pictures. Why don’t take some images that you’ll absolutely love? Something truly you.. Call me today!
A little photoshop today… Think I need a mellow soundtrack to keep me on track. This sounds nice a little Pinback. As a photographer I spend more time at the computer developing digital images than I do actually photographing… So I need the music to keep me going! -Amy

I saw Passion Pit in Vegas a few months ago. Michael Cera’s band opened for them.. I wasn’t a big fan but it was fun anyway. Anyhoo, I can have Sleepy Head on loop all day and be juuust fine…. So, I think I’ll start to work on the retouching for one of my beach senior portrait sessions today. The sunset was amazing BTW Happy Valentine’s Day xoxox’s!
